Healing

(Note: please be sure to read through the rest of the rules in this section for more specifics.)
NOTE: battles involving healers are extremely rare.

Before certain battles, the herald may designate healers be allowed for the duration of the fight. It is not used frequently on a national scale, but can be useful to add a certain spice to different battles. Healers are not specific to any certain battle, but can be used in any battle, at the direction of the heralds. If healing will be allowed in a particular battle, the heralds will announce it, and identify all healers.
  • The Healer cannot heal her/himself or their own equipment.
  • To heal a person, the Healer must be in direct physical contact with the injured person.
  • A healer may not heal a person while either are under direct attack.
  • A Poem of Healing must then be recited or read aloud. The minimum length of a poem of healing is 180 syllables and must be approved at weapon check-in.
  • When the healer completes his poem, all wounds and items are healed or repaired (i.e. armor, bow, shield, etc.)
  • If the Healer or injured person is attacked or distracted, or contact is broken for any reason, the entire Poem of Healing must be read or recited again.
  • Healers may only heal one person at a time.
  • Healers heal, not perform necromancy! (ie: no bringing the dead back)
The information above differs from what is posted at the National site. Not all realms find the same guidelines work for them. Should you participate in a national event, expect to follow the national rules. If you have questions about the national rules, ask on the national forums. If you have questions about why we do things the way we do, feel free to ask us. Remeber: the goal is safety and fun for all...
