June Faire SCA Weekend Event

June Faire info has been added to the calendar, go pre-reg, save yourself some cash! Runs May 30 through June 1, June Faire has a slew of great medieval activities during the daytime, and the usual event night life... except there will literally be thousands of people there! Come participate in this great activity and share in the fun!

Chaos Wars Pre-Reg Open

Chaos Wars pre-reg is open ($20 now, $30 at site). Kickass event, lots of fun people, partying, camping, hanging out, ... oh yeah, fighting was pretty sweet too. August 4th-10th in Hailey, Idaho. Event is up on our calendar, event details can be found on the Belegarth boards.

Western Wars Finalized!

After much ado, Western Wars has finally had it's details finalized. It will begin the afternoon of 5/8/08, and carry on until the morning of 5/12/08. It will be held about 45 minutes outside of Portland (wrong side, unfortunately), and it will be cold, so pack extra warm. It will be a great event, start your planning, and HURRY!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you and yours! It has been a great year at Talinor, filled with lots of introductions as we meet (and beat!) each other. Many weapons were built, some broken, lots of fights had, many miles covered, and here we are. Some are hardcore, some are softcore, some aren't around enough to even be called core, but still we have fun. I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you better (preferably at the end of my sword!), traveling places and recruiting many more fighters to brawl with.

Cold Weather Fighting

As cold weather sets in, many of our fighting urges get bottled up. Rest assured, if it is not PORING rain, we will be fighting. If it is raining too heavily to fight in, feel free to head over to Bortas' home to watch movies, hang out, or work on costumes, armor or weapons. That said, please be on the lookout for an indoor facility that might be willing to allow us to use their area to practice in during the winter. Expect the number of battles and practices scheduled to really pickup as the weather turns better.

Talinor Adopts Rank System

By popular vote, Talinor has enacted a ranking system, where members can strive for and attain ranks unique to Talinor. This system allows interested members to gain recognition amongst our own ranks, similar to what units may do on a national scale. Members not interested are not forced to participate, but also do not attain ranks. This is our first attempt at such a system, it is likely the system will undergo changes as we grow and learn.

Have a desire to aquire some gear? Our market forum has a few such items up for sale (ie: swords), and I will try and make it a habit to post the Tandy sales (ie: armor grade leather), if items of interest come up for sale on that site.

Changes Underway!

Changes are afoot! We are considering a battlefield ranking system, as well as adding more fight dates. Get off your tail and make your voice heard!

Movie & Website Changes

This Friday we are going to Poulsbo Regal 10 to watch the conclusion of the Bourne saga, The Bourne Ultimatem. If you intend on going, buy tickets and plan on showing up there between 1830 and 1900.

I also added a new section to the website, Downloads, where you can download some pertinant documents to our sport. I'll also be uploading full size videos to this section, so you can watch them in higher quality. I should have one or two uploaded tonight. Also, there are some small changes to the menu at left; I removed a couple of items that are never used (feedback, referral), and altered the names of a couple for clarity. Feel free to complain! :)
